Since the first board meeting.
Q: How has the Haldeman Community changed throughout the years?
Thomas Lansford May Jr
There has been growth in outreach activities in the community. For example, we have Kids Day, seasonal parties – which are open to the public - and most importantly, the After School Program. We also have more cultural activities related to the community such as the Gourd Festival and the community reunion.
Q: Why do you think the Haldeman Community Center is a vital part to the community?
No other agency in our area that provides the community services we make available to the community.
Q: What kind of work do you do with the Haldeman Community Center?
I volunteer time and money to the center, I’m in attendance at various functions and events, and I maintain the checkbook with the assistance of RoseMary Johnson.
Q: What would you like to see happen to the Haldeman Community in the future?
I would like to see the completion and restoration of the building – entire facility- to allow more rooms for more outreach programs as well as major building and ground improvements. I also hope that we acquire additional properties adjacent to the facility.

Seeing the creation of the After School Outreach Program to the children in the community.
Q: Please write a brief summary of the Haldeman Community Center for those who are unfamiliar with it and the work they do.

To enrich your life by volunteering to help others.
