Q: How or why did you becoming involved with the Haldeman After School Program?
Last year's volunteers were in choir with me, they announced that they would be leaving and Hlamdena needed new people. So, I observed them during the end of last year's program and I became interested.
Q: What kind of work do you do with the students?
I teach music and do fun activities with the students.
Q: What’s been your most memorable or rewarding experience you’ve had since becoming a volunteer?
One of my most memorable moments was when a student came up to hug me and gave me a drawing that was of me.
Q: Why do you think the Haldeman After School Program is a vital asset to the community?
I think it's a beneficial program because it gives the kids healthy and educational activities to get excited about rather than sitting at home.
Q: What would you say to someone thinking about getting involved with the Haldeman After School Program?
It's a great opportunity to watch these kids expand their interests in these differences extracurricular activities. It's worth it.
