Q: How or why did you becoming involved with the Haldeman After School Program?
I became involved with the Haldeman After School Program as a part of my first Undergraduate Research Fellowship, which dealt with creating murals. Then I fell in love with working with the kids and just had to do another Undergraduate Research Fellowship working with them!
Q: What kind of work do you do with the students?
I direct the Art Content of the After School program and am currently working on involving the students to work in groups and develop collaborative pieces.
Q: What’s been your most memorable or rewarding experience you’ve had since becoming a volunteer?
Seeing all the beautiful art they create!
Q: Why do you think the Haldeman After School Program is a vital asset to the community?
It really helps to bring the community together and help the future generation of this area to grow and develop.
Q: What would you say to someone thinking about getting involved with the Haldeman After School Program?
It’s a great experience and the kids will love you for helping out! They are great to be around, you’ll have a blast!
